This series of Django releases was supported from 2014-09-02 to 2015-12-01.
Highlights for this release
- New Django migrations framework added
- Dropped support for Python 2.6
- Reworked app framework (aka apps.py) including an app-loading refactor.
- New Prefetch option which allows you to dramatically improve the performance of
prefetch_related()queries
Upgrade Gotchas
- Features deprecated in Django 1.5 have been removed.
- If you’re upgrading from something older than this, you should upgrade to at least the next LTS release. It will have more security and bug fixes because of the extended support period.
