This series of Django releases was supported from 2013-11-03 to 2015-04-01.
Release Highlights
- This release was dedicated to Malcolm Tredinnick
- Better transaction management and test discovery
- Default session handling moved to JSON
- Deprecated contrib comments
Upgrade Gotchas
- There are multiple backwards-incompatable changes in Django 1.6. There are also multiple items depricated in Django 1.4 that have been removed in 1.6.
- If you’re upgrading from something older than this, you should upgrade to at least the next LTS release. It will have more security and bug fixes because of the extended support period.
